A day of, perhaps, relative calm
It's Monday, and I'm not at work. A day off, or as I prefer to think of it: I have put myself on paid administrative leave for a day. It's not like I'm going to accomplish great things at home; on the contrary, clearly I'm sitting here at this machine instead of doing something worthwhile. But that's OK; I just needed a day to Not Be There.

Many fine opportunities await for me today. I could clean out the garage. I could play with the children. I could go to the library and research some interesting subject. Probably what I'll do instead is wander aimlessly around the house, tidy up some stuff here and there, check the e-mail and the web every once in a while, and accomplish nothing.

I'm OK with that.
