Notes from the road
New radio station in town (actually, it's the former alt-rock mouthpiece). Bad slogan: "Classic Texas rock that rocks." Apparent translation: All Stevie Ray, All The Time, With a Little ZZ Top Thrown In. It's actually not a bad station, for those times when I need to be reminded what I was listening to in 1987.

Am just now home after the end of an 11-hour work day, which shows one of the big flaws of my job. I arrive at work at 9:30, go to a couple of meetings and then ... nothing, usually, until 2 p.m. That's a pretty big gap of nothingness. Then, things start to crank up, and when I'm actually doing something, I'm there until 8:30. The Boss makes his return from his Long Winter's Nap on Monday. Phase Two of figuring out what the hell I'm doing with my life begins then.

Have a day of single dadhood tomorrow. The Wife and her Champion Dog make their show debut. Wish them luck.
